Pubic Artwork-Coleraine Public Library
Coleraine selected a sculpture of a Page-Turner Bench because opening a book can lead to endless worlds, ideas and stories. As a person turns the pages of a book, they are transported to new places and become part of stories that they never imagined before. People share a connection to their world and community through the act of reading. This sculpture was created by Aaron Squadroni.

The intended outcome of the arts program is to allow libraries the opportunity to commission a work of art by a local artists for their library that represents the community, culture, and history.
Surveys were distributed to participants at all programs. This was a public piece of art commissioned to represent Legacy funds and the Coleraine Public Library.
One library is able to receive Legacy funds each year to commission a piece of artwork by a local artist. Legacy provides a set amount of money and the artists provides a discounted cost to have his/her work displayed. The library pays for anything above the set amount of funds provided by Legacy.
